African Friends of Sheba Medical Center is a non-profit organization based in Johannesburg South Africa, committed to supporting the work of Sheba Medical Center, Tel HaShomer. Dedicated to raising awareness and philanthropic support for Sheba Medical Center’s compassionate care, cutting-edge research and comprehensive educational training, African Friends of Sheba has continued to grow and gain momentum. This passionate support has allowed Sheba to provide pioneering, life-saving treatments to patients in Israel and around the world.
We’re proud to support Sheba Medical Center at Tel HaShomer, the largest and most comprehensive hospital in Israel and the entire Middle East.
Our Objectives
Strengthen
the relationship between the Jewish community in South Africa and Sheba Medical Center in Israel.
Develop
educational collaboration between the South African academic communities and Sheba Medical Center.
Cultivate
cooperation between South African hospitals and healthcare systems and Sheba Medical Center.
Foster
incubators for excellence among doctors and extended medical fraternity together with Sheba Medical Center.
Assist
disadvantaged communities in South Africa and the rest of the African continent by building bridges with Sheba Medical Center.
Formulate
programs allowing South African medical students from different spheres of the medical sector to intern and specialize at Sheba.
